slow to make faster

hi,

i got a report where there are many financial rows i have made an prompt on the departement but before i get the promt it takes for ever.
when i change form department A to department B it again takes very long time to complete.

what is the most effencient way to give the users the power to switch between department without the report being so slow.

How have you specified your prompt? Have you got a separate query to give you the values in the prompt?

a want the user to select its department after all departments have been loaded with all the data.

can i make a report static but still sort it by group? so see all data but still can filter without it to run the report again
