Y-Axis Scale Issue on Chart

Hi All,

I have issues with Y-Axis scale on the line chart. Actually when I use some scale interval (1,2,5...) the values are coming in decimals on the Y axis on the chart. So to eliminate that, I changed the Data Format property to Number and adjusted No of decimal places to 0. But now I don't see decimals on the chart but the values are repeating on the Y axis (0,10,10,15,20,20....). Is there any solution to this issue or can we treat this as Cognos Limitation ?

Thanks!

Satheesh

Helo Praveen,

Don't think every thing is Cognos limitation. If something we don't to achieve that is not Cognos limitation.

on which you applied data format property..??

those are not repeating Y axis values are in decimals u hide the decimal value so its coming like that. 10 repeated 2 times may that is 10.0 & 10.5 there is a chance.

you change the interval your own.

Select Y-axis line (primary Axis), in Properties --> General --> Axis Range --> Major Interval --> Manual

this will help you your own intervals so that it won't repeat again.

Thanks & Regards

Hello Satheesh,

I applied the data format on the y-axis properties.

The repeating Y-axis values are showing like (170,170,171,172,172,172,173,174,174,174......etc).

Also, I cannot have a Major interval as I have 30 IDs associated with the Y-axis measure. Suppose I have major interval as 400 and my measure value goes above 400, it wont be plotted on the chart. Because measure values are Dynamic, we cannot include Major Interval in my Y-axis.

Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks!

Satheesh

Hi,

Major Interval is not the max range...this is nothing differences of axis values. like for suppose you gave Major Interval is 10

your axis values would be like  10,20,30,40..

If Major Interval is 50
then values are 50,100,150,200... like that..

I think you understanding...

Thanks
Sateesh
