How do I add a page containing a report in CC 8. In CC 1.1 you would create teh page as hit the "add content" icon but that is not the case in CC 8?

rocket

Within the Cognos Connection portal, there is an icon that looks kind of like a folder with a * on it.  When you hover over it, it will say New Page.  Click that to create a new page.   Give it a name and specify a location to save the page definition to.  This allow others to add this page to their portal (a new feature in C8).

Once you hit next, you'll get to the Set columns and layout - New Page wizard where you can select the Add link to add content.

Actually , I meant "how do I add a report as a TAB in Cognos Connection 8"

Let's scratch this question, I have to see what I am really asking

Please ignore this question and refer to my item above called:

"[CC] How do I create portlet that shows 1 report only"

If you're talking about portal tabs, you just need to create a portal tab that houses one report using a Cognos Viewer.  Once you've accomplished this, you can set it to view the saved version, run it, or have the user click to run.  Administering it can be tricky though.

The user can add it themselves, or the administrator can add them to each user individually.  We have a user base over 2000 users so this proved to be unacceptable.

As we found through several discussions with cognos, automation of portal tab distribution requires the Cognos SDK.  They have several examples on the support website that show you how to accomplish this.

The problem with Cognos viewer is that the report is contained within the portal window and our portal qindows are very small, in CC 1.1 we had 10 portal windows on the screen. Let me know if we are not talking about the same concept. I have got to the point where I have created a shorcut to the report in a folder by itself and I set up the portal window via Cognos Navidator. In this case I will only see the Title of the one report which I can click on and then the report comes up full screen in report viewer. This is satisfactory for my needs, but the portal still has the "entries" label and the voxes that contain number of entries (it will always be 1 of 1). It also contains the "go to" arrow as well as the prev, next, first, and last page arrows. We don't need any of this on in the portal because we don't want any navigation. The prev, next, first, and last arroes are greyed out, and there is no navigation possible anyway. But to have it visually look like wht we were doing before we would like to take those out. I tried to change permissions to take out the traverse functionality, thinking that that might hide all that navigation stuff, but it didn't work.
