Tree Prompt Issue with javascript

I have a report that contains a tree prompt that is located on the report page and not on a prompt page.
I have coded it using the html item from the toolbox and have the hide - show concept working as expected, have done this multiple time in the past.

Problem is when you click the to expand a member in the prompt it churns for about 45 - 60 seconds before it returns the result.

If we remove the html item that precedes the prompt being hidden and re-test the issue goes away.

This happens on version 10.2 and 10.2.1, I do not recall if it happened in 10.1 and I am certain it was not an issue with 8.4.
It also seems it only occurs with tree prompts.

why cognos behaving like this ?
