We are just setting up our Cognos 10.2 Environment.  Our major data stores are currently Oracle 10g, but these are being updated to either 11g or 12c (won't know for a bit which it will be).

1. Can Cognos 10.2 have it's content store in Oracle 11g and its data store in Oracle 10g?
2. Can Cognos 10.2 have it's content store in Oracle 11g and its data store(s) both 10g and 11g?

I did some searching and am pretty sure the answer to 1 is yes, but I hoped for some feedback from the pros on the forum.

Thank-you

I think it will not create any issue for you if content store database and application database are having different oracle versions. So for both questions answers should be Yes.
Thanks

Your content store is connected directly through jdbc and your data sources are by the oracle client so no problems here.  You would only have a problem if your oracle client version is unable to connect to different db versions (eg 11client and you are trying to also connect to an old oracle 8i db and whether u are using com or dqm)
