Hi Guys,

I'm building a dashboard, I want to realize a simple action, summarize small items, I set the paramaters as asked but no changes in my chart but it's working well in the pie chart. Don't know what's going on maybe someone faced that probleme before.

Thank you for your feedback and for sharing.

PS: My version is Cognos10.2.1

Can you elaborate? it works in a pie chart but it doesn't work? Are you trying to do this in a different type of chart? Can you explain?

MF.

I'm asked to build a dashboard with a chart, there's some repetitives values smaller than 10% that I try to summarize in my chart. I set that option in my propertie pane, apparently it doesn't work in the chart whereas it works fine in a Pie chart (my teammate told me and i tried it). You can give it a try. Hope I've been more clear. In Brief That option doesn't work in a simple chart, maybe i miss something

What chart type are you using?

I tried it in stacked column 100%, regular column (Easy to test if you're using the GODW sample, quantity sold by order method will give you enough to go on) on 10.2.1.
On these types of charts the summarize function seems to refer to the categories axis rather than to the series axis (It seems weird to me, but there you have it).
So, if I have order method in series, year in categories, quantity as measure and I ask to summarize items smaller than 10 percent (Meaning, I want to see Web and Other) - nothing will happen. However, if pivot the chart to have order method in categories and year in series, I'll get to categories: Web, and Other. Also, the tooltip shows 0 percent values in stacked column on the other category for any part of the stack, which is clearly a bug.
It seems like a weird way of doing things to me, but maybe IBM thought it best for a reason I cannot currently come up with.
In your shoes, I'd try contacting IBM support, maybe there's already a fix for that or a request for a change of feature.

Tks Nimrod. That makes a lot a sense to me now. I've spent 2 days to figure out what was the pb. Still dont understand why they made that so easy with pie chart and complicated it with bar , it's really ridiculous!!! I've already planned to contact IBM support. Tks again
