how to merge one query item to another query item in prompt

How to associate one query item to another in value prompt, for example i want year and quarter(2014-Q2) both merged in the value prompt.
Please u all are very helpful, helped me  a lot. Hope you would help me

Relational or dimensional?
Is your question about how to construct the prompt query or how to compare prompt selections to filter your data?
What are the relevant data items available in your package and what data types are they? For example, do you have a date dimension and what are the components you have to work with?

Perhaps create a mock up of what you are trying to do that will better illustrate the requirement.
