Cognos 8.4.1 FP1 Installtion steps in detail - Linux

Hi All,

Please provide steps by step instruction to Install IBM Cognos 8 Business Intelligence 8.4.1 Fix Pack 1 in Linux environment

Please let me know how to open cognos configuration v 8.4 in Linux environment.

It's all in the Installation and Configuration Guide:

Look at Chapter 6. It details things like the umask you will need. If you have a GUI such as X-windows available it will be easier than a silent install, however the instructions for both are included.

Hi MFGF,

Can you please tell me how many component is coming with cognos 8.4.1 FP 4 becoz when i tru to install FP i can see only 122  components.

After installing Fixpack i can see  info cmplst.txt i am not sure the Fixpack installed successfully?

If you look in the "Product Update" section of the cmplst.txt you should see the FP entry there.

A quick "diff <cognos>/uninstall/backup/update_<date>_<time>/cmplst <cognos>/cmplst.txt" will give you what has been updated.

These are the version numbers for 8.4.1:
RP1   102.18
FP1   103.16
FP2   104.13
FP3   105.13** - This version was posted then quickly pulled due to a bug (If your running this UPGRADE ASAP)
FP3   105.14
FP4   106.12
FP5   107.18

Thanks for your quick response i will verify from cognos/ uninstall location,
From cognos connection also it will show fixpack details....? from  About ibm cognos administration i can see only 8.4.1 v

Best way is always to check the cmplst.txt. Cognos Admin doesn't show the FP level.

If Cognos Fix Pack is installed in Linux what would be the update identifier string mentioned in the cmplst.txt for the  8.4.1 and 10.2.1.

Any help regarding this would be highly appreciated.
