Phantom schedule with unknown object

Hi all,

I had a situation happen on Wednesday and I'd like your take on it. I have an agent that runs and bursts a report each weekday at 9:20am. Wednesday, this job got stuck in the queue and kept running over and over again, but we could not find it anywhere. I am assuming it was stuck in the queue, because my level 2 support had to shut down my server and run a fix to empty them out and then rebuild them. This is what stopped the report from running. My CPU was at 100% for most of the day.

I am now left with a phatom schedule with an unknown object that runs at random 15-minute intervals each day, assigned to each of the developpers randomly. I am afraid of leaving them there in case they get my CPU back up to 100%, which basically means my users have no more reporting. I don't want to go deleting 200 schedules each day forever.

My question to you is two-fold: has anyone ever seen this happen before and if so, how did you fix/prevent it? and is there a way to delete schedules with a certain name in batch?

Thanks!

We have had a few issues with odd things like this when we run the maintenance job and remove users who have left the company (and no longer exist in AD).
the fix was to go into the job and change ownership from unknown to the service account.

not sure if its the same issue but figured it might be worth trying.

cheers

Sam
