Can someone explain to me the concept of a Determinant, as it relateds to Uniquely Identifying something?

Determinants are bascially used to make sure data rolls up correctly. You have to let cognos know how the data is modelled, what uniquely identifies a record, and this is done by using determinants.

When you import data into FM, and the tables getting imported have primary keys/unique indexes then you will see FM automatically creates a determinant for you.
