publishing package to report studio

Hi experts,

Iam new to cognos and have a very basic question.

I was practicing making models, creating relations and finally publishing reports. I made some tables in SQL , imported them to framework manager after creating relations.Now, when I launch report studio I can't find my package on searching.
Please guide how to publish my package to report studio after importing it to framework manager.

Hi -

Once you bring in the tables in Framework Manager and create joins, then you create a package, put objects (query subjects) in the package and publish it. While publishing, it gives you the option to publish it to either the Public Folder or anywhere else in the portal. Once the package is published, it can be used in Report Studio as well as other studios depending on what is contained in the package. If it is a relational package then it cannot be used in Analysis studio but can be used in Report and Query studios and Business Insight Advanced. Till ver 10.2, the package will look like a blue folder. In 10.2.1 it looks different but you can identify it by the name.

To publish the package, right click on the 'Package' icon in Framework Manager, then click 'Create' and then 'New'. Choose the objects you want to publish.

pls check the folder you are puplishing to, and make sure you have the rights to see and use the contents of this folder.

You will have to schedule the report to run. Click on the blue arrow icon on the right side of the report which says 'Run with options'. Select the 'advanced options'. You will get lot of options among which is also to send the report by email. I would suggest go thru the user guide.

Is there any option where it can be send to a gmail account apart from active reports.

I haven't tried sending it to gmail but it lets you put the e-mail addresses so put a gmail address and check it out

I tried sending with both HTML and PDF formats but didn't receive to my gmail address

Has your Cognos instance been configured to interface with a mail server?
