display problem - drop down selected item - javascript

Hi All,
I have a prompt page in which I have a drop down list box. The problem I have is I am not able to see the selected item of the drop down list. This occurs only if the 'use value' and 'display value' are different. If they 'use value' and 'display value' are same I dont have this problem.
Can some one provide me with a javascript that would display the selected value or any suggestions to fix this.

did u check the relations between ur use value and display value in the database ? if thats correct then it should work
