Hi,

Have you read through the second link I posted above? Your question about transferring the content store from one version to another is answered in detail in the "Upgrade IBM Cognos Business Intelligence" chapter of the Installation and Configuration guide I linked to. There is a section in that chapter (under "Upgrade Tasks") entitled "Move your content to the new version of the product", which covers both the approach of upgrading your existing content store in-place, or creating a new content store and populating it using a deployment taken from your original one. There are step-by-step instructions on doing this, so I'm not quite sure why you are asking for me to reiterate them here?

Per your other question about port numbers - if you are replacing one version of Cognos with another (ie uninstalling one and installing a new one) it's fine to use the same port numbers in the new version. If you want to run them side-by-side you will need to allocate new port numbers in the configuration of the new install. You can choose any port numbers you like provided nothing else on the server is already using those ports. You will need to make sure you change all of them - one for the dispatcher, a shutdown port, and one for the log server. Just look through all the pages of the config to make sure you haven't missed one. Again, if you had read the document I linked to above, you would have seen that this is covered in the documentation. Look at the section entitled "Install and configure a new version of the product" under Upgrade Tasks. Yes - there are step-by-step instructions. It's all there.
