C10.2.1 - Hide Value Prompt Names in Excel/PDF Export

Hi All,

I have just finished my template report in Cognos 10.2.1.

Scenario: Now, my report has Value Prompts (VP) on the left side. The VP's have been created in pairs i.e. Each VP has two table cells. The top cell has a text item which has the name of the VP and the bottom cell has the VP itself. There are 55 such VP's in my report, one below the other and they are all acting as filters. Also, there are other Chart, List and Cross-Tab items in my report.

Problem: When I export this report to Excel/PDF, the chart and the tables comes just perfect. But along with that, all my 55 VP names also show in the Excel/PDF extract. It shows just the names one below the other, all 55 of them, and NOT the VP itself. BUT, I do not want these names to show in the Excel/PDF. I have attached a screenshot and have highlighted the not required names portion in red.

Requirement: I just want the Chart, List and Cross-Tab items to show in the Excel/PDF extract and hide the Value Prompt names.

Any advice/suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Thanks n Regards

Got It :)

Sorry to bother you guys.

Solution: I just selected the entire table cell which had all the 55 VP's. Then in the Properties pane on the left side, under Miscellaneous, I added the (Don't Print) function to the Classes and that's it.

Now the PDF and Excel output do not have those names. Infact, one can just hide anything in a excel/pdf report output by selecting (Don't Print). I have not tried it though but I guess it will.

Anyways. I am good to go now.
