Hi All,

does anyone some experience with Cognos8 on AIX?

I have a lot of problem on it, our environment is a single server install, the system is too slow with the cgi mod.
We would like to change actually to use apache2 module, but IBM HTTP 2.0.47 can't work with it - HTTP500 Internal Server Error, although there were made all the documented changes in cogstartup.xml, httpd.conf, index.html and default.htm.
We have tried to use the mod_cognos.so, I mean the apache1 with IBM HTTP 1.3.9. That time it can work but the webserver have to restart in more than 3 times a day - the webserver processes uses all the CPU resources - our consumers can't stand (this) Cognos8 and wish to use the good old Reportnet... (are on different server) But they can't so we have to optimize this environment.

We had some cases at the official support, but I need problem-resolving not just case management.

Many thanks in advance, I do believe you can help me  :)

Could you post your httpd.conf and cogstartup.xml, please?

I am facing a similar issue with IBM HTTP Server 6.1 on Solaris and Cognos 8.2.

Both IBM HTTP Server and Cognos  server are up individually but when I add the mod_cognos.so in the HTTP.conf file, it says "mod_cognos.so is garbled. Perhaps this is not an Apache DSO?"

Any help would be appreciated...

There is so little info from cognos knowledge base on this .so.....

I'm afraid you won't be able to. I think IBM HTTP 6.1 is an equivalent to apache 2.2 and higher, and the MODs were compiled for 1.0 and 2.0 respectively. You will have to stick to CGI.
