Automatically Refresh Framework Manager Package

Hello All Cognos Gurus,

In my Project there is a requirement that I have to automatically publish the framework manager package so that it will reflect the updated query data, which I will then be using in IBM Cognos Transformer for preparing cube, the cube then I will use in Metric Designer for metrics mapping, the flow of process is summarized as below:

Framework Manager Package ------> Transformer Powercube Package ------> Metric Designer Package

Here my need is to automatically refresh FM Package so that further changes will get reflected directly in Metric Designer.

I am using IBM Cognos 10.1 version,

??  Why would you need an updated package for new query data?  Do you mean you want to change the query structure / underlying model? A package is just metadata, it does not contain data..

what happens actually is query structure remains same, but when my database is updated with new data then query will fetch more data. At that time the package should get published to reflect the changes furthermore to the Powercube which is using that FM Package. So I want to automatically publish the FM Package on regular basis say for ex. at the end of every month. So how can i get this process to be automated..??

Hi,

What Blom is saying is that if the query structure remains the same, you do not need to republish your Framework Manager package. New rows of data added to the database will automatically be included (unless you have coded specific filters to exclude them)
