HI,

I'm learning to import data into contributor, however I'm having issues with importing date formats.
Everything else imports fine however the dates do not import at all.

Does anyone know why this is?

I'm pretty sure it must be a date format issue, but i've tried about 6 different formats and none have worked for me yet.

Thanks

Hey LeeN,

What version of planning are you using?

LeeNash

Hi sorry for missing this out, i'm using version 8.4.1

Are you using the get data feature using an excel file in a local link?

In the 8.4+ JAVA client date formatted fields, regardless of their format, would not import and the issue does not affect the classic client.  I'm aware of a fix that was made for the 10.1.1 FP2 version of EP that addresses this issue.  Unfortunately the fix is not available for the 8.4.1 version.  To get this to work, in your current version, you would need to use the Classic client, or upgrade the environment to 10.1.1 FP2 and request hotsite 6302.55

Also, if you're not aware, support for 8.4.0 and 8.4.1 is ending in September of this year.  I would suggest that, if you haven't already, you start looking into the upgrade processes before the.

thanks for your help here.

I did figure out the answer, in short the case sensitivity of the date formats in excel was the problem.
01-aug-13 did not import at all however 01-Aug-13 worked perfectly.

Another few hours of my life i'll never get back :)

THanks all for your help

My advice:
With Planning, don't even start thinking that way   ;)
