How to delete the My Folders content of users that no longer exist in the Authentication Provider?

We have a lot of user who left company. Their ID's are no longer in LDAP.
From time to time we are running consistency check on Cognos Prod server.
The Content Store is getting bigger and we need to do clean up – delete output files  (Excel, HTML and etc...) any files users saved in My Folders.
Also is there any way of clean-up of deleted report – I mean when developers delete report, it gets deleted from Cognos Connection, but it's still in Content Store.
I did search and did not find any way of clean up.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Rita,

There is a way to delete the user's my folder section who no longer exist if you have the admin role to your environment. You need to search for the user then click more properties and delete this user's profile this should wipe out all the content from their directory. And yes, this is the only way to do it manaul unless you have tool like meta manager where it shows your content store make-up by all objects such as saved outputs and other dependicenies the object existed with the user and do a delete.

Thanks,
RK

RKMI,

Thank you for your quick response.

Is there any way to view the My Folders content of users that no longer exist in the Authentication Provider, before I delete user's profile?
Also, is there any way to run some Audit Report to check before and after deleting users profile. We do not have SDK.

Any help as always appreciated.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Rita,

I don't think there is a easy way to get a list of user which were termed, I would guess that would be maintain with your authentication provider admin for your prod environment. I think the way you are taking care of this issue is reactive and dangerous... if you are not sure which users are termed and which are your active set of users since you can fat finger a user out and delete content that you don't intend to delete.

To your second question there is no out of the box audit report that would provide what you are looking for as i suggest you authentication provider admin would be your best bet. That is if you follow some sort of audit compliance standards otherwise you are sort of hosed... environment without audit traceblity.

Thanks,
RK

Hi,
This is an old post but if it helps somebody Attain Insight Security 4X can help here:

Security 4X allows you to recover the contents of My Content folders for users that have been removed from the Directory Service (before running a consistency check cleanup).

Assuming you're just looking for report specs, and the consistency check cleanup hasn't been done, it's simple enough to query the Content Store database and extract the SPEC xml for each report.
