Add a certain number of months to a given month

Hi friends,

My requirement is that I have to plot months on the x-axis ( Report Studio ). There is a drop-down for the user to select a particular month and another drop down to select a year and when the user selects a month , the x-axis should have months starting from the month that the user has chosen till 9 continous months.

For eg. if user has chosen Feb and year 2012 , the x-axis shoud display from Feb to Oct ( 2012 )
if user has chosen Sep and year 2012, the axis should display from Sep ( 2012 ) to May (2013 )

The task is critical. Please help asap.

There is a very nice standard cognos function _add_months that will do what you need. Check it out in the expression builder
