failures in presentation service?

I'm receiving failures with the presentation service in my environment.  I'm running Cognos 8.4.1 FP3 (BI) and FP2 (EP) on Windows boxes.  I consistently have around an 85% success rate on the presentation service, yet I can't see anything in the log files on the two relevant servers that would indicate to me what the failures are.  How can I go about troubleshooting this particular service?  Do I need to enable audit logging or should there already be something produced by the system?  If I need to do audit logging, what level of logging should I do?

what's the error message? what says the cognos log? pls be so kind and deliver further information sir :)

Grim

Like charon said....screenshots or it never happened!  :P

Charon and Grim,

So that's part of my problem...I can't find error messages that seem to correspond.  I've attached what I see.  I've checked all current log files on one of the servers with the presentation service enabled, and I can't see anything that appears to be relevant.  I'm not getting any feedback of error messages, so I assume these are internal failures that the system ultimately corrects or just tries again until it works.  ???

I'll happily provide more info, but I need assistance with where else I should look specific to the presentation service.  I have multiple instances and this seems to be the weak link in all of them.

Thank you for your assistance,
Jeff

Oh jeebus...

GL with trying to track that one. That could be anything from an actual error to clients getting impatient and clicking all over the place and/closing their browser in the middle of a request.

My production system is pretty much on par with the same number of successful/failed requests as your screenshot. So...

It's business as usual. These are not the errors you are looking for.  Move along.

Grim,

Excellent, and happily moving along!  Just seemed inconsistentn with the percent of success for other metrics, but going through trying to develop metrics that are reasonable so I can more quickly see when things are not as they should be.

Appreciate your help.
