Paramater Maps to Create Filters and External Data Package

Within my packages I have a set of dynamic filters created using Parameter maps.
These are working really well.
However, we have come across an unusual problem when creating a package containing an external data source.
As we work through defining the package my set of filters folder is shown and expandable, after including the external data source and publishing the resulting package, everything is still visible.
However, when I try to expand the dynamic filters folder - It is empty!

• sign next to the folder, but this does not expand (it dissapears) and there are no filters shown!
  
  Any thoughts woud be greatfully appreicaiated.

Did you verify the package prior to publishing?  No errors or warnings received? Anything wrong with the package definition?
