Diff b/n .mdl with/without categories

Hi All

what is difference and impacts of .mdl saving with n without categories.
one thing i know if v save with categories size of .mdl will be bigger.
does it anything to do when we build cubes daily mdl's with/without categories
please can you tell us adv/diadv of the same.
