Outer Joins in Join Expression?

Hi all,

For some magical reason, I no longer see the join UI in report studio for some of the queries.  I think it has to do with making changes in the reference queries, but I don't really know.  Anyways, I only see the join expression editor, which would be OK except I can't define outer joins in this window.  It doesn't seem to recognize join shorthand (I'm on a SQL server db).

Any ideas on how I can get the join UI back or make outer joins in the join expression?

I found the answer...

There is a bug in Cognos (at least version 8.4.1) that will no show the join relationships window if your query name contains a non-alpha character.  My queries were name XXXXX < 12, and XXXXX > 12.

Note to all, do not use any non-alpha characters when naming your queries!  Frustrating!
