Looking for Examples ?

I have two for you, go to : https://sites.google.com/site/daanblinde/content
You can also download the MHTML-files itself.

Hi Daan
I like the report examples - I looked at your examples on the google site
What I would like to know is how you got the tabs to display the way they do
I want to recreate a similar styled CEO and CFO report myself
Would like to hear how you actually built it including the steps

MFGF

These reports are part of the standard demo environment used by IBM Cognos internals and partner organizations, and are designed and written by the Cognos Corporate Demo Team at IBM. The "tabs" are actually a button bar linked to a deck (look for a deck object ad a button bar object in the toolbox in report studio). Each "page" of the report is actually a different card of the deck, and the buttons simply select the relevant card.

MF.

Would it be possible for you to share the XML from report studio for these examples?

They look quite nice!

If you have access to PartnerWorld, you can download the Future Chips demo environment, including this report and the data and images it requires. The link is here:

https://www-304.ibm.com/partnerworld/wps/servlet/ContentHandler/pw_com_sfw_ba_cognos_demo

The report spec wouldn't be much use to you without the underlying package and data.

Looks like IBM have taken it down. I have reported it to PartnerWorld - let's see if it reappears.

Hi,
I have similar requirement to create an interactive dashboard with mutilple tabs. If you could please share the report specification of the above dashboard i believe it would help me lot to achieve my critical task.

How to show Region(ALL), Product(ALL) radio buttons as we can't defint value prompt for ALL.

MFGF

Are you using a relational or dimensional package? If it's dimensional, you can include the "All" member of the hierarchy in the set used to populate the data radio button list.

Alternatively, you could use a default card to show a chart/crosstab/whatever that corresponds to the ALL values.

Cheers!

thanks MF.
stupid of me. I am exploring Active Reports and it kind of struck later to use deck for it(simplest solution and feature of Active Reports). I was thinking along the lines of Value Prompt as working in Report Studio till now.

thanks for your help.

Please don't post up your email address - see the Forum Etiquette post if in doubt.

You can grab the report specs for a number of the sample active reports from here:

ftp://public.dhe.ibm.com/software/data/sw-library/cognos/mobile/All/index.html

Did you not read MFGF's post? It has two important points for you.

1: Do not post your email address. I have removed your address.
2: It has an ftp link that still works fine. Click on it and you will have plenty of examples.

One of the reports in the ftp link:

Would anyone know what kind of visualization is on top of the heatmap?
The one with numbers and arrow indicators (red/green) indicating increase or decrease in revenue?
How do you this?

TIA

Lynn

You can look in the report spec to see how it is done. It isn't a visualization. It is a repeater table with images that conditionally render depending on whether there is growth or decline.

Thanks for the reply. I am yet to install cognos, that's why I couldn't see what's in the xml. I am just drafting report design for the mean time. Thanks a lot!
