Hi There,

When I try to use a data source connection in my new project of Framework Manager, I get the error message below:

QE-DEF-0285 The logon failed.
QE-DEF-0323 The DSN(ODBC)/ServiceName is invalid. Either the DSN is missing or the host is inaccessible.
RQP-DEF-0068 Unable to connect to at least one database during a multi-database attach to 1 database(s) in:
TestDBUAT
UDA-SQL-0031 Unable to access the "TestDBUAT" database.
UDA-SQL-0532 Data Source is not accessible: "DBUAT".
ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified

This is at my office and is distributed configuration. Also I have three different installations of Cognos 8 BI to connect to three different environments (DEV, UAT & PROD).In the Frame work Manager connecting to the DEV environment I can publish a package from Frame work Manager with out any issues.

The problem is with UAT & PROD.

I have checked my TNSnames.ora and the Oracle version and found nothing wrong.

The interesting thing here is I can create a new data source from Framework Manager which appears on the Cognos connection at the following location:
"IBM Cognos Administration/Configuration / Data source connection". But I cannot connect to the same data source from Frame work Manager

I have raised and issue with Cognos support but they cannot help me either. Has any one experienced the same?

Any help is very much appreciated

Thanks
Ranjitha

With 3 seperate Cognos installations you will also need three configured FM clients, unless you keep changing setting in FM configuration locally. In other words : 3 installations / 1 FM client is not a viable setup..

Many Thanks for your response.

RE your query yes I do have three different FM clients. But still have issues  :-[
