Market Situation

What do you think of the market situation of Cognos at the moment ? Demand vs Supply of Cognos resources ?

It will definately differ based on Regions, Countries etc. I am in California and have noticed fairly good market since June 2009 after a slump in the end of 2008. I believe Illinois is better than California. Lot of business establishments moved out of CA in the last few years.

What about other countries, states etc?

I am in the NY metro area. There has been a noticeable increase over the past 4 months or so in the number of calls and emails I receive.

My experience over the years shows that this only happens when I'm under contract with a client and not seeking a new engagement.

I'll be sure to let everyone know when I decide to start looking for something else because that will, no doubt, be when all opportunities vanish :)

I have the same experience. Just started at a chip company in the bay area and got calls from another company today. Same thing hapenned last year when I was in a contract.

Let me know when you want to look for another opportunity. There is a company in CA that lets you telecommute and they need someone with your skills.
