Configuring 64-bit C10 to connect to MS SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services

Hi All,

I am working on a POC and as part of that I need to show that C10 is compatible with SQL Server Analysis Services 2000.  i.e. I am trying to establish a connection to MS cubes.

My problem is that I cannot find a SQL Server 2000 client for Analysis Services to install on my 64-bit Windows Server 2008 R2 instance.
Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.8 seems to be the only client available to support OLE DB for SQL Server 2000, however it is 32-bit and therefore uninstallable on my Cognos server.

Without a client, the obvious error message I am faced with is:

QuoteMO-ERR-0044 Failed to establish a connection to the 'TESTSQLSERVER' server. The Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services client library was not found.

I have tried using both SQL Server 2005 and 2008 clients, but was not successful.

Is this simply not possible when you are running 64-bit Cognos?

Many thanks,

Joe
