Hi Guys-
I'm getting ready to burst, but would like someone to point me in the right direction. I've bursted before, but always single page, single query reports.

My situation now is the following:

1) I have two pages.
2) The first page contains a number of singletons, 4 charts, and a summary list report.
3) The singletons and list report are driven from the same query.
4) The 4 charts are driven from 4 separate queries.

All queries contain the same field; the field i hope to burst on. (I.E. Company Name)

Is it possible to avoid master-detail queries and burst at the page set level by setting Company Name as the burst level?

ANy help or online resources would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
-Hugo

HI,

i am also facing the similar kind of issue please let me know if you find the solution

Hi!  I got it to work by doing the following:

1) Created a Page Set and set the following properties for that page set:

  • Query -> Chose primary query. This query drives a few others, but note this, it does not drive all (i.e. charts, etc).
  • Grouping & Sorting -> Grouped by [Company] field; Sorted by same [Company] field. This field will also be what i burst on later
2) Dragged both of my report pages under Detail Pages for Page Set1 in the Report Pages view.

3) Now the stage is set. I went into each of my report pages. Selected the Page and under Properties I defined each page by their respective query, in my case a secondary query (e.g. Query2). Under Master Detail Relationships, I selected the column name both queries (Primary and Secondary) had in common (i.e.  [Company], which is the field i will later burst on).

4) Once all the pages were defined to a secondary query, and a relationship made to the primary query, I was now ready to do the same for all of the charts, lists, and singletons.

5) I selected each chart, one-by-one, and under Properties -> Query , I selected the query that drove that respective chart.  Under Properties -> Master Detail Relationship, I linked the query defined to that chart and the primary query by [Company] field.

6) I did this to all charts. lists, singletons.

7) After everything was defined and linked to the primary query.  I went to Burst Options, clicked on Make Report available for bursting.

  • Under Burst Groups->Query: Primary query
  • Under Label:    [Company] field
  • Under Groups: I grouped and Sorted by [Company]
  • Under Burst Recipient: Primary query
  • Under Data Item: Custom field of Burst Recipient field containing the following logic -> 'CAMID(":Everyone")' . That sufficed for my needs.

With burst settings completed. All that was left was to burst under report options.

Hope that helps a few others.  ;D
