Refreshing a dimension in a historical cube

Hello,

I have a cube where I have to show the latest geographical assignment of the sales people for historical data. The geographical assignment changes once a month and this is causing me to rebuild the entire historical cube once a month. Is there a way to circumvent this?

For example, the sales staff is organized as zones & regions. The cube contains historical data since 2000 through current month. Historical measures don't change. For example, the total sales amount from 2000 through Dec 2010 is not going to change. However since the sales staff move from one region to another occasionally, and since we are required to show the latest zonal/regional assignment of sales staff, we need to rebuild the cube at the close of every month to show the latest assignments.

Is there anyway to get around this? I would like to keep one historical cube and as the month rolls by, I would like to be able to add just the transactions came in for that month incrementally. But I also want to reorganize the measures based on the current zonal/regional assignment.

Any ideas??

Thanks,
Arvind.
