It looks like their pushing GO Dashboard similar functionality. Most of the clients I worked with actually didn't like it; they claimed it was too complicated.

During Leah MacMillan's demonstration it looked like she was using Firefox. This makes me extremely happy. Even 8.4.1's supposed support of Firefox is extremely painful.

I wonder if I can get away with getting an iPad as a business expense now - to test all my reports on it of course...

Rob was saying that query performance has been improved significantly. He mentioned Powercubes, TM1, Essbase and SAP. No love for SSAS?

My experience so far shows markedly better performance in Firefox than in IE.

I had the same thought about an iPad.  Strangely, my employer does not seem to agree!

In terms of query performance enhancements, IBM focussed on SAP/BW, Essbase and TM1 for this release.  I'd guess it's likely there may well be other platforms added to this list in later releases.

Meep!

The social media part was not something I expected. I'm not familiar with Lotus Connections but wonder how useful that functionality is if your not a lotus shop or don't already have a robust implementation of lotus connections. Interesting idea though.

Don't see anything yet on course offerings or certifications.

i only made it through the first 40 minutes of the presentation and demos, so i missed the most important part, the part where they announced general availability? did anyone else catch when we will be able to download the new version and start evaluating how stable it is and work on our "seamless" migration path from 8.3?

tomw, you can still watch the whole presentation using the same link provided by IBM ..

Product is available now, assume from your favorite COGNOS vendor.

The "Lifecycle Manager" COGNOS tool is being pushed as the "compare old with new objects" for upgrading.

I can't reveal my association with V10.1, but it's a fair statement to make I'm in the production weeds with V10.1.  As a > decade COGNOS admin / developer / user, I'm absolutely thrilled with this product.
