Hi

In our requirement, I have two prompts with cascading. (eg: Country and City)

When user selects Country prompt, then only City prompt should act as required. But the Country  prompt is optional.

Notice that if City prompt  is set as required, user must have to select it to click on 'Finish' button. Otherwise finish button will not be enabled.

Please help me .

Thanks,

Hi

Steps to create the Cascade Optional Prompt:

Prompt Data Items : Country , City

1. create a prompt on  Country   = ?Country? and City = ?city?

2. Make these two promts as optional in the prompt page and go to detail filters there select the prompts and in the properties set the Required option as NO.Do it for both.

3. come to the prompt page , after country prompt  drag a Prompt button and select type as Reprompt.

4.select the ?city?  prompt  and give cascade source as ?Country?

5. Save the report and run it.

Note: Auto Submit button will not work for Multiselect option.Thats why we created the reprompt button.

It works for Value Prompt as well.

Hope it clears your issue.
