i don't know if this question is relevant. but here it is.

i want to import different datasources into transformer. by different datasource i mean form oracle, db2, mainframes.

i want to import one datasource from oracle, second from db2, third from mianframe (don't mind the order).

is this possible if yes how?

thanks in advance

mhamilto

This is easy. Just create 1 query from each of the data sources. This is no different to having multiple queries from 1 data source.

yes, i tried that i used odbc and imported the table from oracle and placed it in transformer and i did the same for db2 but when i arrange data according to the model i have i am getting errors stating that the model is not correct.

what the problem is that where will the data be stored when i import it into transformer and how is the datasource accessed. i read some pdf's to get info. but i am not able to get clear picture.

i work on reportnet and i know that the data from different sources will be stored in contentstore.

so is there anything like this in transformer.

Hi Syam,

What errors are you getting when you use multiple sources?  Are they 'TR2703 - designate as a unique level'?

When you use multiple data sources, the source(s) bringing in the measures needs to have columns in common with the source(s) bringing in the dimensional data, and they should have exactly the same name in the data sources.  Furthermore, where these columns are used as dimensional levels, they need to be unique (you need to mark them as unique in the properties of the level too).

Take a look at the step-by-step Transformer guide for details on using multiple data sources in Transformer.

MF.
