I've got an Excel report with multiple sheets that I've given names to. But Cognos is appending "-1", "-2", etc. to the sheet names. Is there a way to not have it do that?

(Example, I named my page "Report", but the Excel sheet name shows up as "Report-1".

Hello everybody!!!

Has anybody found a solution to this item?

I have a report in RS that breaks in several pages, one for each Product. The name of the report page in RS is "Page". If I execute in Excel, I get one file with a lot of pages, which name is "Page_1", "Page_2", etc. Is there a way to give to each page the name of each Product ("golf", "camping", etc.)???

Thanks a lot!!!

As of Cognos 8.3, there is a new Advanced Property setting to overide this behaviour: RSVP.EXCEL.NUMBEREDSHEETNAMES FALSE Steps:
From Cognos Connection, click Launch -> Cognos Administration.
Click the Configuration tab.
Select Dispatchers and Services.
Click on the Dispacher name.
Beside BatchReportService click the Properties icon.
Click on the Settings tab.
Beside Environment Advanced settings, Click Edit.
Click the checkbox beside Override the settings acquired from the parent entry if displayed.
Add the parameter RSVP.EXCEL.NUMBEREDSHEETNAMES with a value FALSE.
Repeat from step 5 for the ReportService.

Hello Kalyan_y

Thank you very much for your help, but I'm afraid it didn't work... I have applied your steps, and as result it shows the following:

The name of the page object in my report in RS is Productos.
Before applying your steps the result was an Excel book with pages "Productos_1", "Productos_2", etc.
After applying your steps the result is an Excel book with pages "Productos", "Productos_1", "Productos_2".

Is there something left I can do?
