Does anybody know when Cognos Planning 9 (powered by TM1) will be out?

Martin RC gave an indicative date at the partner jolly in Prague, but since he said "don't quote me" I won't quote him.
Realistically (and I'm not saying the engineers are worse than their peers on this, that's far from the truth) the first few versions won't be worth jumping into straight away for real world use.

I attended the 2009 IBM Cognos Forum and spoke with many reps and partners regarding this and none would or could give a date. However, I heard many partners hint that a company with a strong planning infrastructure shouldn't expect a "decent" bridge between the two products for at least 1.5 to 2 years.

Just my two cents.

hi guys,

is there any definition of Cognos Planning powered by TM1 or any article or paper? so far i have heard that, cognos planning analyst will be replaced by TM1. so TM1 modeling capability and Planning contributor/web.

thanks,
Aditya

Aditya,
I heard the same thing: Analyst out, TM1 engine in. Maybe...no GTP and publish.

thanks for responding, Ned.
last week i got two sets of information on this,
- it seems planning-TM1 release is gonna be this year (i cant believe this).
- And also cognos/IBM is working on migration tool (planning analyst to TM1) in which they are having some difficulties.

by any chance, do you have functional/technical design doc for TM1 project?

nedcpa

hi adityashah27,

I do not have any sample tech design doc for a TM1 Project. I wish someone can share with us the Project Plan and Tech Design Document.
