I'm facing a new with a report.
Using Cognos8.3, apache2, windows server 2003.
This report contains some HTML Items objects, in order to have interactivity between the report page and some HTML / javascripts elements.
The issue comes in a unpredictable way, and the report could run several times without problem.
Most strange is that this reports runs "normally" on an other server. (using Cognos8.3, apache2, windows server 2003 too).

Issue detail:
The HTML items and their contents seems not generated with the page of the report.
Looking at the source code of the web page, I can see that all the HTML tags that should appear are like "invisible".
Cognos seems to act as if ti was a blank report, with nothing inside.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi,

A few informations more about this problem.
I've seen that cognos is generating a temp file in one of it's subfolder for the "huge reports"; it is located in ../temp/rsvp/ .

The main part of this temp file contains all the source code that should be displayed / used by the browser.Everything is there, nothing missing and correctly formatted.
So, I would tend to say that the problem have nothing to do with some settings or parameters of IE7 for example.

It seems that "at the end of the process", cognos doesn't include the code contained in the temp file inside the source code for the web page.
But I don't know how to find the reason of this behaviour.

The worst thing is that this report works correctly on a server, and not on a other one with nearly the same environment.

I've also asked the cognos support (as we paid for that), and I didn't received any correct answer:
they are still convinced that it is a problem of javascript in a prompt page, and send me to the few documents related on this problem, even after spending time in trying to explain them (even on the phone)  that we are not trying to build a prompt page with interactions between js code and their "prompt objects" (as value prompt, for ex).

Hi,

The problem is still here ... if some "angel" could try to think about it, it will be great.

I still wonder why the code in the temp file is not sent to the browser; is it a problem with cognos or with IE ?

Thanks

I think I'm going to try voodoo technics ....  ;D
