BMT-MD-0003 QE-DEF-4082 Cannot Parse an Empty Expression

All:

I get the following error 'BMT-MD-0003 QE-DEF-4082 Cannot Parse an Empty Expression' when i try to edit the definition of a query subject AFTER applying a security filter to the query subject.
QS status changes to needs reevaluation and breaks if I try to reevaluate.

Strangely, one can access the data from any of the studios after publishing the package with new changes.

I have contacted cognos few months back but was not satisfied with the rep's response so had to close that call UNRESOLVED.

reevaluation indicators have no impact on the actual 'sanity' of the packages. Try to examine the model.xml of the framework with a good text editor (like ultraedit) for irregularities in the definition of the QS..
