Hi,

This morning we got this error ('CAM_AAA_Authenticate' failed. Reason...)when we open cognos connection page from production server, cognos 8.3

Any one knows the reason for this? I have gone through different communities to help, but the ultimate solution I found is only restart the server. Any solution other than this if happens next time?

Thanks,m

It seems it's related to the scheduler.
From Cognos support website, it says that admin will have to remove all the scheduled reports (but this is for version 8.2).

Did you just upgrade to 8.3? Please let me know, perhaps I could offer another solution.

Hi,

Enable the ipfaaaclientconfig TRACE and you should be able to get more details of the error. The errors will be logged in the TRACE LOG FILE in the <installtion location>/logs

Even on my production servers BI 8.3 i get the same errors CAM-AAA-0027 ......

I'm using Series 7 for security, The errors for me occurs every 10 days or so!

I have written a batch file to restart the cognos 8 service every 7 days.

Waiting for Cognos support to fix this issue.

Finally, Cognos admited to it being a bug and have posted a fix for it. My present client have a premier support account, and boy did the managers give our support rep an earful everytime the error happened  ;D. We first started seeing it about 3 months ago. Apparently, it is related to a Java memory leak.

Thanks all,

Finally managed to contact Cognos support, and i have managed to download the files.

The hotfix can only be applied  to BI server with SP2 installed.
