Is there a way to make certain Analyst libaries "invisible"?

Two problems here - one is that I have some back-up libraries that I don't want to see when I'm working with the current libraries.  Is there a way to hide them so they aren't in the list when I go to open an Analyst object?

Second issue is that I've set up an application that is very similar to another one we're using - similar D-cube, list & link names.  Each application uses two distinct libraries.  The problem is that I have full access to all 4 libraries (which I need) but I've already accidently been working in "App A - Library 1" when I meant to be in "App B - Library 1".  Luckily I caught it before any damage was done, but other than being VERY careful, is there a way to only work with one set during a session?

I thought about setting up two new log-ins for me, one for each app, and then restricting my access thru Analyst (I'd keep my main one with all the rights), but will this require more licenses?

Hello

First Problem, two possible solutions.
To remove a library in a list, (open dcube for example) there are two options.
1, Amend your access to the library, so you have no access.
2, Remove the library from Analyst.  Note that the underlying folder on the hard disk is still there, with library number, when you unregister in analyst.

Second Problem
Two options,
1, As you you have suggested.
2, Amend your access at the start of each day/time you work.  Easy to amend library level access in analyst so this may be most suitable solution, rather than creating other user names.  If your user is the system admin, then you'll need another user name.

I do not know about licensing issues.

Thanks

Stuart

Thank You! I completely forgot that removing the library doesn't get rid of the underlying files.  I'll just have to keep track of which libraries are which by #.

My current login is the system admin, so maybe I can get by with just one additional log-in by switching access when I start working, as you suggested.  But that means I'll have to log in twice, right?  Once as Administrator to switch the access, then under the limited log-in.  Hmmm, if there's not a licensing issue, maybe setting up two limited log-ins would be better...

Analyst is licensed per-user basis, so if want 2 logins for one person to use  -- it's okay in my opinion. But that's not official -- contact your cognos rep, they may have different opinion.

That's the way I'm reading the agreement - it says (I added the bold):

" "Named User" means an individual who is authorised by Licensee to use the specified Software, deployed through a corresponding Related Server, whether or not that individual is logged on to that Software."

But then again, I'm a Financial Analyst, not a lawyer.  ;) We've got a call in to our rep to be sure.
