Hello,

I am very much new to Cognos. As part of learning the tool (Cognos 11.2), I am trying to edit a label under a table section of the report. However, when I try to select the specific label, it's always selecting the entire table section of the report.

I am sure, there's some small trick, that I am missing. Hoping someone will point me to the right direction.

I am attaching the picture in reference. The highlighted text in the selection are the labels I am trying to edit, but the selection always defaults to the entire table.

I got it resolved by unlocking page objects on top right side of the webpage.

Hi,

Usually you should be able to edit the text just by double-clicking on it. Alternatively, you can usually single-click on it, and in the Properties window, edit the "Text" property.

If neither of those work, an alternative to unlocking/relocking the report structure (the solution you found) would be to use the View dropdown next to the padlock, and change from Page Design to Page Structure. You should then be able to expand the page/table structures in a hierarchical view until you get to the text items you need to edit.

Cheers!

MF.

Thank you. I was able to resolve by unlocking the page objects.
