Odd Report Bursting Issue

Hello! I am currently using version 11.1.7 and have an odd issue with running burst reports. This is something that does not happen in my version 10.2.2 legacy environment.

When I run a burst report, immediately or scheduled, it sends me an email with no attachment regardless if there is data or not. Also, I am not in the burst recipient groups, which is done via a calculated field and set to email in the report, so I should not be receiving an email anyways.

I thought it was a bug where my account was stored in the email setting of the schedule, but when I remove my name and turn back on burst I will get a delivery failed message due to no recipient.

Any thoughts? Was this a change in version 11.1 to burst reports, or is there some setting I am over looking?

Hi,

That's weird. I have not come across that issue before. It must be getting your email address from somewhere. Usually bursting will generate a series of saved outputs back to the portal as well as emailing them - do these look normal or do you have a blank output there too?

The output is fine, when there is an output. The burst seems to operate as normal, if you have data in the burst report you receive an email and attachment. Now, if you are in the burst, and you were the one to run/schedule the report, you will receive an email with an attachment AND an email with just the email text that is found in the email setting for the schedule.

I am just completely baffled with this issue.

It appears this issue should be fixed if I upgrade to 11.2.4:

Reading the issue that was reporting it seems to be the same issue I am seeing. I will have to see if I can get my Vendor, since I am not a direct IBM client, to send me this version.

Wow - interesting. So it's a known defect. Great work on tracking it down! Hope you manage to get to a fixed version soon!
