Hello all,
I am still new to Dashboards. I would like to create a cumulative sum line chart. I am basing this on invoice amount and extracting invoice month and year from invoice date.
So say the overall total for 2021 is $100,000..I would like to see how the totals added up from one month to the next over the year.
I haven't found a simple interactive way of creating this in the current Cognos Analytics charts.

Can someone give me pointers on how I can achieve this.

thank you.

Running-total?   If not that, look at the other functions.

Thanks, I used to use this in Report Studio. I dont see this specific function in Cognos Analytics though.
Any other function that I can try?

It's there. Where did you look?  What version do you have?

I am using IBM Cognos Analytics 11.1 R1, not sure if it could be my installation.
I dont see it anywhere on the functions list categories.

Do you know of other functions that I can try to use instead?
Thanks for your help,

A

They are in the expression editor when you create a calculation.

Hi,

Find your measure in the source pane on the left, and click on the ellipsis to the right of it, then choose "Create calculation". In the bottom left corner of the calculation dialog, click the link that says "Use calculation editor". You will then be in the expression editor, and on the left you'll see an "f" symbol that takes you to the functions list. Expand the Summaries grouping, and you'll see the running-total summary there.

Cheers!

MF.
Meep!

Thanks, I still didnt see it there either, not sure if its my installation or version.
I did however do the calculation in the dataset and that seems to work for now.

Thanks for the support,

A
