question on dimensional requirement with no time period on layout

Hi ,

I have a crosstab showing products in rows and quantity and sales in columns .

Crosstab row edge which shows products changes based on what measure is selected . So If I choose top 20 it gives top 20 products ,then if i chose top 20 growth it shows top 20 products by growth .

so i have a month prompt which shows the selected month and its fytd months .so say if i choose sep 2019 the month set will return jul 2019 to sep 2019 and that will be used for the top 20 product calculation , for top 20 growth , I compute the sales growth between jul 2019 to sep 2019 with jul 2018 to sep 2018 .

Everything works fine now and In layout in crosstab,I wanted to show the sales and qty for the months selected only with no time period on the crosstab layout .

if i dont have a time period in crosstab layout then the sales and qty for all timeperiod root member and will show overall sales and qty for root timeperiod.

My question is if i add the slicer on the selected month, the crosstab will show the sales and qty for selected months ,but my growth calculation uses prior year month and current year month  to retrieve products .Will that still work if slicer is on current year month ?

How to achieve this .

Any suggestions is appreciated

I would really appreciate any suggestions on the above  question .

to achieve the same affect without using slicer, put the 'slicer' in your measure.

[measure] = total(currentmeasure within set [chosen month])
