ver 10 Interface?

Is there any way to switch the interface to ver 10 when you are in Report Studio?

Editing a report is really a difficult and slow talk with all these so called 'intuitive' screens and controls that they introduced. I could have done this a lot faster in ver 10 of RS.

There are a few improvements to the interface in Cognos 11.1, but I don't think there are any plans to bring back the ver 10 interface.

In CA 11.x.x, you can enable the legacy studios

- See https://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21986776

Note:
This is a new URL (not the existing URL you have set up for CA 11).
You have to use IE or Firefox.

Hope this helps,
Adam.

Those legacy studios are for Query, Analysis, and Event. Not for Report Studio.

Every time I meet with the design team, I stress how difficult it is for professional developers to work with the floating toolbar and I point out that some functionality is simply gone. I've also emphasized that all of the changes feel like they're trying to attract basic or "power" users to the detriment of the expert developers. The designer I spoke to seemed amenable to having a basic/professional toggle, but I'm not sure if that will happen.

Paul..

Thx for the reminder - I didn't actually try it, I just knew I had the link saved somewhere!

Nope. It works in 11.0.x but not in 11.1.x.

Meep!

Well, it does work in one specific case, and datasets would be significantly more difficult to work with if it didn't. But don't ask me for any hints.
