Hi All,

Currently we are doing the migration activity for transformer cubes from Cognos 7.5 to Cognos analytics 11.0.11. I am facing an issue while building one of our cube.

Scenario: We are using the IQD files as a source files. Totally we are using 11 IQD files as a source files. Out of 11 files, 2 IQD files are having "Hot File (.IMS Format)" paths from where the user is accessing the file. Here we are directly mentioning the "Hot file" paths in the IQD Sequel`s. While i am trying to build the cube, because of this "Hot files" i am getting the below errors. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Issue Description :

DMS-E-GENERAL, A general exception has occurred during operation 'prepare request with options'.

DMS-E-XDA_DMSISS_LOAD, Could not load the DMSISS library.

DMS-E-RBI_TABLE, The table or view T7 was not found in the dictionary.

Hi,

Probably not what you wanted to hear, but you have a fundamental design flaw in play here. Hotfiles are not supported within IQDs. You're going to need to figure out what data is in the hotfiles and how it relates to the SQL queries in your IQDs, then replicate this data using a Cognos Analytics list report. Typically hotfiles were used as a workaround for the limitation in Impromptu that meant a catalog could only access one database. That limitation doesn't exist in Cognos Analytics, though - a package can point to multiple data sources. This means a CA report from that package can bring in all the data you need for your Transformer cube in one report.

Cheers!
