Hi All,
My current environment situation
Cognos 10.2.2,
Report studio,
Data Source: Cognos Dynamic Cube
MS SQL server.

Requirement: I have a reporting requirement to display the hierarchy structure of a particular hierarchy as per the chosen prompt selection.
In the prompt page: I have a XYZ hierarchy and there are different levels in it. As per the chosen level in the prompt,
I need to display the hierarchy structure from the root level to until selected levels on the top of the crosstab report.

Please let me know how to achieve this?

Thank you

Regards
Geetha

Hi All,
My current cognos environment

Requirement: I have a reporting requirement to display the hierarchy structure of a particular hierarchy as per the chosen prompt selection as atooltip.
In the prompt page: I have a XYZ hierarchy and there are different levels in it. As per the chosen level in the prompt.
On the top of crosstab report i have a HTML item to show the selected prompt.
The requirement is to display complete hierarchy structure when i hover mouse on that prompt HTML item.

Is it achievable? If yes, please let me know?

So for a set of users you want to allow them to choose the levels in the dimension which are displayed in the metadata tree? Is that a correct understanding?

If so, are these people always going to want to see the same things? Are there any security aspects to this?  That is, are you trying to identify the user and then present metadata which is appropriate for him?

If it is the case you might be able to achieve what you want via security filters.

I don't think there's a way to filter the display of metadata otherwise.

Thank you very much for the reply.
Yes basically its  for a set of users to show the level of detail. But for the time being, the task is parked.
