How can I create a merged header cell over Crosstab column headers?

I have two crosstabs aligned side-by-side, to which I want to add a merged header over the columns ( or 'crosstab node members').

The left-hand crosstab expands by a date dimension field, and the right-hand crosstab has 3 individual fields summarized for the 12 month period.

I have tried:
1.) Adding crosstab spaces above. This works on the left-hand but not on the right-hand, because they cannot be merged.
2.) Creating 3 separate crosstabs and uses table cells to label the individual sections. This was problematic and seems like a poor band-aid.

I will be adding many more fields to the Location ID field, so simply adding a text item above the left-hand crosstab is not an optimal solution. I would like for a true header cell positioned ONLY over the columns headers.

Thank you for your input!

Hi,
See if the attached report design helps.
Good luck

Hi New Guy, thank you, unfortunately the system administrator at my company has hidden the GO data warehouse package from users.

Can you give me a step-by-step on how to achieve what you attached? Thanks!!

Hi,
You don't need the package. Check the design and see if it helps. Or edit the path to the package in the xml to any of the package that is available to you for the report to load in reportstudio. Attached is the image of the reportoutput in excel. Placed 2 crosstabs in the 2nd row of a table with 2 columns and 2 rows and merged the cells of the 1st row.
Good luck

Hi NewGuy, I'm looking to avoid having the merged cell extend to the crosstab row labels. There are going to be several additional fields in the report, like Location open date, and other Location dimension fields. I don't want the merged header that is specific to the crosstab columns to extend over the row portion of the crosstab. Is that possible?

Also, can you clarify how I don't need the GO package for your prior example - wouldn't I need the same framework/fields to edit the path from your XML to the framework on my end? I am not an XML expert so it wouldn't do me much good to study it.

Thanks!
