Format Columns Independently in List Report in Report Studio

Hi All,

Very novice user here and first post! :)  Hopefully asking question in correct forum.
I'm sure there is a way to format columns independently of each other, but I can't seem to figure it out or find a solution as of yet.
Here is my particular situation and what I've tried.

One numerical column I am trying to format with no separators and no decimals.
Another numerical column I am trying to format with no separators and two decimals.

I first selected the column header in Report Studio of the first column I am trying to format.
In the menu bar, I then select Data/Default Data Formats...
I then select Number Format in the "Default Data Formats" form that pops up.
In the "Properties" section, I set the "No. of Decimal Places to "0", and the "Use Thousands Separator" to "No".

I then save the report and run and the Output for that column is as desired.

I then go to the second column in question and repeat the same steps above, but when I get to the "Properties" section, I set the "No. of Decimal Places to "2", and the "Use Thousands Separator" to "No".

I then save the report and run.  But now both columns have this latest format.  The first columns settings don't seem to hold but are overrode by the last format used.
Hopefully something simple that I'm doing wrong, but any input is really appreciated.

Hi,

You've posted in the Query Studio board, but in your question you mention Report Studio. Can you clarify which you are using?

If Query Studio, click on the column body of the column you want to format, select the Edit Data link in the top left, then in the left pane click on Format Data, and choose your desired format. Repeat for the next column, choosing a different format if required.
If Report Studio, click on the column body of the column you want to format, in the Properties pane (bottom left section of the screen) find the Data Format property set the desired format for the column then click OK. Repeat for the next column, choosing a different format if required.

The other issue was that you were using the Data > Default Data Formats option on the menubar, instead of the Data Format property in the Properties pane :)

I have moved the post to the Report Studio board for you.
