Hi,

I have prepared some scheduled reports but I want to add timestamp to generated report. For eg, if report is generated at 5th April 2014 then report will be saved as report_name_05042014.

How do we do that?

I am using Cognos 10 report studio.

Thanks in advance !!!

Hi All,

I also have similar requirement. Is there any solution for that?
I tried the steps mentioned in below link, but still report attachements are missing date stamp.

Few can be done on Cognos | RTFM for those who ask basic questions...

lol

Just wanted to bring that thread on top.

Can anyone test process mentioned in below link and confirm if that is working?
Want to assure if given method is not working or I am doing wrong.

Wondering this is so tricky or no one is using this concept of suffixing timestamp to attached report name?

I've never needed to timestamp an output, so I can't give any direct help. Just an observation though...the document you've linked to doesn't mention stopping and starting the service - I've often found that to be needed when making changes like this.

Hi,
In the versions before 10.2.2 there is no option like the link from IBM mentioned.
The final solution we found is from outlook and excel macros for renaming them. We receive the output we save it in a folder and then rename it and bounce it back. Crazy stuff right?
Good luck

Chirs: I think I restarted services, but no harm in trying again.

New_Guys: lol ya crazy.

May be you guys try around something. If IBM mentioned it, it can be done, just that proper process missing. I am not direct customer of IBM or can't even send feedback about it directly.
