Hi there,
In Excel I'm trying to connect with our cognos server (11.0.7). After hitting 'login' button a new window is popping up. After filling the credentials the window does not close, and the 'welcome' site appears in that window. When the window is open I can't work on excel sheet (can't modify it, can't choose any report, no list of reports is showing up, ie. 'open' button is not responding). When I close the window I can work on excel sheet (modify it). But I still don't see any report or any list of reports. After hitting "open" icon I get COI-ERR-2011 Error (I'm not connected).

In short: whether I'm logged in or not I can't use cognos reports in excel.

What am I doing wrong?

edit: operating system is Win10

Hi,

What URL have you defined to connect to your CA instance? Is it in the form http://<servername>:9300/bi/v1/disp

Cheers!

I use https://<servername>:9300/bi/v1/disp
But when I change it to http://<servername>:9300/bi/v1/disp  it's not connecting.
Our IT "switched" http to https due to security reasons. Do you think this might be the problem?

Meanwhile I've checked
https://<servername>:9300/bi/v1/disp on cognos 11.0.7, excel 2016 and windows 7 professional and it's working properly.
So the only thing I recognised different is the operating system.

I'm confused - afaik win10 is supported by cognos 11.0.7. and all should work properly :(

Hi,

When you switch to using secure sockets, you often change the default port to a different one. It's worth checking with your IT team to see what port is now being used, and try this in the URL. Port 9443 seems to be a common one...

Cheers!

MFGF, server address without the port was the problem.
After adding proper port to the address it works just fine.
Thank you for your help!
