Cognos 11 change Report View Target

Hi,

is there a way to change the report linked in the report view? Not sure if I am just blind or if this feature was actually removed?

Hi Chris,

You'll find it on the General tab of the Report View's property sheet.  It's at the bottom of the tab, just above the ok/cancel buttons.

thank you. Just to clarify (see attached image) - is this the right place? I selected the three dots on the file -> properties and this is what I'm seeing in the advanced tab at the bottom of the general area.

Hi Chris,

Apologies for my late reply.  I have to admit that I didn't notice I was in the Cognos Analytics forum; lack of attention on my part.  As well, I've had only a day or two's interaction with C11.  Having said that, I had an opportunity to discuss C11 with the Product Manager one day, and it is (for the most part) the same backend as 10.2.2.  The main change has to do with the look and feel, intuitive design, and user-modelling.  I would bet good money on this property remaining the same. 

So, yes, your image seems to be showing the correct property under the heading for Source Report.  Are you not able to affect change to the property?

no worries! I am happy if I get a replay at all :)

Exactly, it is not possible for me to change anything there except for the checkboxes and the languages (I created the view and should have all necessary rights). Maybe that is something that get's fixed/added in 11.0.4.

you can change the target of a view in 11.0.3.  its deep in the report view properties but its there.

I can't see any option to change the target - not in R3 or R4. It's possible to do if you enable the Cognos Connection interface and use this, but I don't see a way in the new portal.

you are right.  I updated 30 report views and distinctly remembered it as being in the new interface  but I can't find it.  I guess I was using the old Cognos connection portal...  Its getting so I can't even remember the workarounds anymore...
